The cycling version of the Crono has been banned by cycling's governing body the UCI for being too aerodynamic.

The crono has water print decals on the side and back of the boot and it is covered in a gloss coating. Each boot is individually numbered with a water print.

The Crono was used at this years World Championships before being banned. The Russian team placed 2nd in the 4km pursuit.

Anti Stretch

Between the outer skin and the liner we add a material that is proprietary to Bont to stop the cycling shoe from stretching over time. This material has similar strength characteristics to Kevlar. The material is stitched to the outer skin and bonded to the liner so it can never move or be removed, it becomes part of the cycling shoes structure. This layer assits in pedalling efficiency by maintaining a supportive structure over the top of the foot in the upward part of the pedal stroke.

Last Design

A last is a plastic replica of a foot that the boot is built around. Last makers do not make skate lasts, they only make shoe lasts so perfecting a speed skating last is not an easy prospect. At Bont, we have been perfecting our lasts since 1975 and the process is ongoing. We feel that we put more effort into our last than any other skating brand and it is the reason that Bont boots fit more skaters than any other brand on the market.

The Crono utilises closed cell memory foam that will not retain water assisting in maintaining a lighter shoe during wet conditions as well as ensuring sweat which can begin to break down the durability of the shoe is not absorbed.

Heat Moulding

Bont skates are the most heat moldable skates on the market. Our resin is developed in house and has been perfected over 36 years to be an extremely stiff resin that becomes pliable at relatively low temperatures. You may have tried heat molding other brands of boots and found that you needed to increase the temperature to try to get it to mold. That is not the case with your Bont boots and we urge you to start with low temperatures.

The Crono is only available as a stock boot, sorry no customs. We can only make one pair per week max.

Bont Innersole for inline

Bont innersoles are made of heat moldable EVA. They are comfortable and thin so they don't take up too much space in your boot. The edges are curved and thin so that there is a seamless transition between the innersole and your boot liner.
